SABLE
Sable is a New York City based duo with an eclectic style that touches on elements of electronic music, math rock, noise, jazz and various other genres. The duo is a collaboration between best friends, Jaco Imani and Dmitri Burtis, and the culmination of a long standing musical relationship that started in high school and has outlasted several bands, various occupations, locations and life changes.
The project originally started with a concept album for the Immersive art/ entertainment company Meow Wolf and revolved primarily around Jaco's cinematic narrative based song writing. The project has since evolved into a more collaborative song writing enterprise, with the recent addition of Nate Garner on Saxophone.
The album latest album, "Ayllu", is about chosen family and the kinship formed over the pandemic when many of our lives became much smaller. Below is a music video for the single "Contrarian" as well as a live performance of our song "Bonanza Creek".
NOONS
This album along with the formation of this project are the culmination of several years of experimentation and play. The album chronicles my development as a producer and the evolution of a developing sound or perhaps just a mashup of my disparate interests.
MOON MACHINE
I played bass in this band, it was called Moon Machine. We were a short lived neo-soul group based out of Santa Fe but we managed to make a little EP in our limited time, pretty cool.
